Eftech: Streamlining Compliance and Enhancing Safety with MyPass

Eftech is a leading provider of process and pipeline services, operating across oil and gas, power, water, mining, heavy industries and more. The global Eftech Group employs skilled personnel to support greenfields and brownfields projects, plus operational maintenance and shutdowns. Eftech is a tech-driven services business that seeks innovative solutions to improve their operations and keep their international pool of workers safe.

Eftech was introduced to MyPass by a number of their clients already using the platform to manage the competency data of their contracting workforce.

The scenic route to a competent workforce

For nearly a decade, Eftech has approached workforce compliance management the traditional way, relying on spreadsheets, training matrices, and a very busy contractor management team exchanging zip files via email. Despite their very capable and detail-oriented team, it was a manual process to manage each worker's dedicated folder. In fact, the mobilisation of one worker to site could take up to a week due to inefficient back-and-forth communications between the worker and Eftech’s client.

Increasing regulations caused sites to tighten their compliance requirements, and Eftech’s induction processes posed a challenge. They lacked real-time visibility of completed training, which at times led to incomplete worker inductions. This inevitably jeopardised worker access to sites and risked Eftech’s reputation with important clients. The administrative burden was further increased by labour-intensive tasks like reminding workers about expired certificates and sending training courses individually via email.

When routine compliance audits came around, Eftech’s lack of a centralised register created unnecessary stress for admin teams. As a testament to Eftech’s commitment to worker safety, they have been triple qualified for compliance audits for X years, regardless of these time-consuming and manual processes. But there is a shortcut to gaining the assurance that the right workers, with the right skills are performing their tasks on site.

The turning point

Eftech’s international pool of subcontractors and projects across various mine sites compounded the challenge of managing competency data, and in the end, necessitated a strategic overhaul of their workforce management. It was critical to find a solution that integrated with their current systems to streamline data management and ensure the safety and efficiency of their global workforce.

Efficiencies with MyPass

By implementing MyPass, Eftech now has a system with a comprehensive oversight of workforce competency and site-readiness. Real-time data dashboards have elevated Eftech’s visibility of onboarding activities across projects and business units.

MyPass serves as a centralised hub for storing, verifying and sharing critical workforce management information. Loading inductions, employee handbooks, and internal training into MyPass reduces Eftech’s admin load and ensures the transferability of compliance information across job sites. Automated expiry notifications for training and certifications have replaced manual reminders, with all training information consolidated into a single platform.

While Eftech was originally mandated to use MyPass to send their contractors to a client site, they are now independently realising the value of centralised, real-time data. Eftech has recently opted to use MyPass beyond the mandated scope to benefit from comprehensive data management.

MyPass looks forward to aiding Eftech to streamline processes, improve the onboarding experience for Eftech’s diverse and global workforce, and win more work with the growing number of Owner Clients choosing MyPass in Australia and beyond.
